Appendix C

For ease of reference please find a list of the information that might be required in order to obtain a license to make alterations to your studio. Depending upon the scale and scope of your proposal the company may require you to present some or all of the following items:-

  1. A Specification bringing all the works together in one document.

  2. Plans referenced and drawn to scale.

  3. Structural Engineers reports on the effect on the building of any changes including proposed loading

  4. Sprinkler specification for the chosen system.

  5. Wiring diagram.

  6. Building Control – Confirmation from Building Control that all the information required to sign off the work has been provided.

  7. Electrical Installations – Is a competent electrician doing the work? We need to know that any electrical works are to NICEIC standards.

  8. Site Access for Operatives – Proposals for access.

  9. Programme of Works

  10. Photographic Schedule of Condition of adjoining areas to including adjacent units and common areas.

  11. Confirmation of working hours

  12. A deposit to be held against damage to the building

  13. Confirmation that ”as built” drawings will be produced on completion. Contractors insurance to a minimum of £2,000,000 Public Liability

Please note that not all these items will be required for every development, neither is this list exhaustive; it all depends on what you want to do. Again the best way to find out what is required is to apply for a license and talk with the representatives of the company (Limehouse Cut Board) before starting any work.
