Waste Disposal
If any rubbish bags leak, please clean the spillage immediately to ensure that there is no mess, damage to the new carpets or possibility of another resident slipping on the spiral stairwell leading to the bin areas. Your consideration is much appreciated.
Larger items of unwanted household refuse will not be removed by the refuse collectors, therefore, please do not leave old furniture or other unwanted items in the common areas, and do not leave them in or adjacent to the refuse paladins or in the basement car park. Any such item left within the building or car park constitutes a fire risk, and as such invalidates the buildings' insurance. It also increases the service charge as the Building has to pay for the removal of these items. CCTV installed within the building assists in ensuring the common parts are monitored and allows the Managing Agents to identify and contact those who do not abide by this request. The Managing Agents, can and will enforce removal and recharge where costs have been incurred.
Keep any such large items inside your studio and arrange for disposal by contacting Tower Hamlets Special Refuse Collections Department on 020 7364 5000.
Please also refer to the notes about recycling in Tower Hamlets in this document.

Recycling
Free pink recycling waste bags may be ordered from the Tower Hamlets Website or may be collected from the Ideas Store in Chrisp Street Market (please take some form of address identification). Food recycling caddy bags may also be collected here and are also free to residents – there is a composter on the Communal Roof Terrace which helps the community to recycle plant and food waste – however, please empty the contents of the bags into the composter but do not add the bag as it does not break down fast enough!
Please use the recycling facilities provided wherever possible.
